Pantry Basics

The lists below will give you an idea on what to keep in your pantry, cupboards and/or spice rack. You don’t have to have everything on the list and you can get items not on the list as well. These are just the most common items I use on a weekly basis.
Spices:

  • oregano
  • basil
  • bay leaves
  • red pepper flakes
  • black pepper corns
  • salt (kosher, regular or sea)
  • garlic powder
  • paprika
  • rosemary
  • thyme
  • sage

Grains:

  • flour (all purpose, bread, whole wheat)
  • corn meal
  • rolled oats
  • steal cut oats

Canned, Jarred, Boxed:

  • tomato (crushed, whole or sliced)
  • tomato sauce
  • tomato paste
  • stock (chicken, beef, or vegetable)
  • bouillonĀ (chicken, beef, or vegetable)
  • jams
  • honey
  • pasta (any shape – YES they all taste the same. get over it)
  • rice (short, long, brown, sushi, basmati)
