Pantry Basics
The lists below will give you an idea on what to keep in your pantry, cupboards and/or spice rack. You don’t have to have everything on the list and you can get items not on the list as well. These are just the most common items I use on a weekly basis.
Spices:
- oregano
- basil
- bay leaves
- red pepper flakes
- black pepper corns
- salt (kosher, regular or sea)
- garlic powder
- paprika
- rosemary
- thyme
- sage
Grains:
- flour (all purpose, bread, whole wheat)
- corn meal
- rolled oats
- steal cut oats
Canned, Jarred, Boxed:
- tomato (crushed, whole or sliced)
- tomato sauce
- tomato paste
- stock (chicken, beef, or vegetable)
- bouillonĀ (chicken, beef, or vegetable)
- jams
- honey
- pasta (any shape – YES they all taste the same. get over it)
- rice (short, long, brown, sushi, basmati)
